Pickled Rose Year In Review

Happy NYE! Can anyone else not quite get a handle on how it’s going to be a new decade in just a few short hours? 2019 has been a whirlwind, and such an incredible year for Pickled Rose. Over the last year I’ve written 104 blog posts, made 102 original recipes, created 52 pieces of original artwork, and drank like I was back in college with a 15 week summer cocktail series on Instagram. Phew! I’ve been BUSY.

When I decided to relaunch the blog I had no idea what would be in store for me. All I knew is that I needed to get back into the kitchen and back in the studio (or any place I could find at home to make art). Writing recipes can be hard, but even more challenging was making art inspired by those recipes. I can’t even begin to tell you how many nights I stayed up staring at a blank piece of paper thinking to myself, “HOW IN THE HELL AM I GOING TO MAKE ART ABOUT _____ ?!”. It was a creative challenge that I SO needed, and I can’t wait to continue to push the limits with what inspires me artistically, in and out of the kitchen.

The absolute highlight and craziest thing of the year, was being a finalist in the 2019 Saveur Food Blog Awards in the Best Food Instagram category, and going to Cincinnati for the Saveur Blog Awards ceremony. Nearly two months later, and I’m still in awe that I was part of such an amazing experience and of all the wonderful people I met. This was the first time since I started Pickled Rose, waaaaay back when in 2011, that I’ve felt a sense of community in the food blogging world. And honestly, most of that credit goes to YOU, my dear readers. I’m so glad and grateful for you to be a part of my little community.

Since it is NYE, I have a little countdown of my own. DRUMROLL PLEASE! Here are the 10 most popular recipes on Pickled Rose for 2019:
